The Ohio River Way Paddlefest is the largest canoe and kayak paddling event in America with over 2,200 paddlers. The weekend kicks off with the Kids Outdoor Action Expo on Friday, the Outdoor Expo and "Roots on the River" Music Festival on Saturday and Paddle the Ohio on Saturday.
Join us for the 13th annual Ohio River Paddlefest Weekend June 20-22 - NEW DATES THIS YEAR! Paddlefest weekend has been moved from a Thursday-Saturday event to a Friday-Sunday event to allow for more outdoor activities at the Paddlefest Outdoor Expo on Saturday, June 21st!
Paddlefest weekend kicks off with the 9th annual Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo on Friday, June 20th from 9:30 am -4:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public and is presented by the Green Umbrella, The Carole Ann & Ralph V. Haile, Jr./US Bank Foundation, Interact for Health, Great Parks and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. We invite everyone from summer camps, families, day camps, girl and boy scouts, summer programs and park attendees to come out and enjoy the day and learn through fun. All exhibits, presenters and performers will be open all day during the event. Some of the presenters will have scheduled performance times, so please check out the schedule before you arrive. We are so excited to bring to you a lot of new activities to participate in this year that include the Get Fit, Don’t Sit pedometer walking program, fishing on Lake Como, Obstacle Course for kids, Zumbatomics, Yoga, Tai Chi, dragonboat rides, storytelling, Madcap Puppet show plus new exhibits and a petting zoo. The Kids Expo is the water safety and outdoor environmental education event in the Midwest that is fun and engaging for children, so come on out and enjoy the day with us.
On Saturday, June 21 join us from 10 am – midnight for the new Paddlefest Outdoor Expo and “Roots on the River” Music Festival. This daylong event features boat demos on Lake Como, classes & clinics, gear swap, Family Fishing Day on Lake Como, enjoy exhibits of all kinds, two fishing contests, raffles, refreshments and food, silent auction, boat drop off and early registration from 9 am – 9 pm. Enjoy two stages of entertainment – classes and small bands will be on the small stage from 10 am – 7 pm with the “Roots on the River” concert taking place on the large stage from 8 pm – midnight.

Join us on Sunday, June 22 for the 13th annual Paddle the Ohio event on the mighty Ohio River. Paddle down river and enjoy the majestic beauty of the Ohio River, it is a “bucket list” experience and one you won’t soon forget. Registration opens at 6:30 am on Sunday morning. Races will begin at 7:15 am and all float paddlers will begin entering the water at 8:15 am. The U.S. Coast Guard will close the Ohio River to commercial and power boat traffic as paddlers launch more than 1,400 canoes, kayaks and human powered boats for a leisurely 8.2 mile trip from Coney Island to the Public Landing in downtown Cincinnati. After finishing paddling join the Gold Star Chili Finish Line festival in full swing for entertainment, refreshments and exhibits.
