Coney Island provides a top-notch swim lessons program for Season Passholders ONLY. Classes are available for people of all ages, ranging from six months through adult. Scroll down for session dates, class descriptions and more.

Coney will conduct two four-week sessions. Day and Evening classes will meet Monday through Thursday. Email Swim Lessons for additional information or call the Swim Lesson Hotline May – August at 513-624-1447.

  • Your fees must accompany the registration form. 
  • There is no refund of fees.
  • If you are a new student at Coney, you MUST BE SCREENED for classes DURING REGISTRATION!
  • You may also register for Session II anytime Session I lessons are taking place. Come to the table by the Skyline food stand near the deep end of the pool.

Registration Fee     $60 per student
Late Registration Fee     $65 per student
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Class   $150 per student
Guard Start (Junior Lifeguarding)    $70 per student

  

PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES
 

Water Babies
For parents with children ages 6 mos. to 35 mos. Offered Tuesday and Thursday during both sessions, classes meet for 30 minutes. This class costs $50.
Water Babes (ages 6 mos-18mos)  11:10-11:40 or 7:10-7:40
Water Tots (ages 18 –35 mos) 10:20-10:50 or 6:20-6:50

3-Year Olds Class
Designed for youngsters with little or no water experience. Parent participation is optional based upon the child’s comfort level. Classes meet for 30 minutes. 11:05-11:35, 6:15-6:45 or 7:05-7:35.

Amazing 3-Year Olds
Designed for youngsters who have completed our Water Babies, who can readily put their face in the water and blow bubbles, and who are extremely comfortable. They must be able to follow directions and separate from parents, who should remain nearby. Classes meet for 30 minutes. 10:15-10:45, 11:05-11:35 6:15-6:45 or 7:05-7:35
 
4-Year Olds Class
Designed for youngsters who have had little or no experience in the water. They must be able to follow directions. Classes meet for 30 minutes. 10:15-10:45, 11:05-11:35, 6:15-6:45 or 7:05-7:35

Advanced 4-Year Olds
Designed for youngsters who can comfortably put their head in the water and blow bubbles, and who are able to follow directions. Classes meet for 30 minutes. 10:15-10:45, 11:05-11:35, 6:15-6:45 or 7:05-7:35
CLASSES FOR KIDS AGE 5 AND UP

 

CLASSES FOR KIDS AGE 5 & UP

If you are a new student at Coney you must be screened to determine your proper class level. Screenings are held during registration and 10:30-Noon Monday-Thursday during Session I. Classes are 45 minutes.

Guard Start (Jr. Lifeguarding)
Students must be at least 11 years old and pass a swimming test. Dates and times to be announced.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding
Students must be at least 15 years of age and pass a swimming skills screen. PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY Classes meet June 14-22 times are to be announced. $150 fee includes First Aid training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer as well as all books and materials.

 

CLASSES AVAILABLE FOR ADULTS


Coed Water Aerobics

A low-impact class that uses and equipment and water resistance for a 45-minute workout. 11:05-11:50 or 7:05-7:50

Adult Lessons
For all ability levels. Learn to swim or improve your strokes. 7:05-7:50

 

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • FIRST DAY OF LESSONS: All students report to areas assigned during registration. Classes will then be formed.
  • COLD DAY? An occasional day missed because of rain or cold will NOT affect your child’s progress. Children can’t learn if they are uncomfortably cold. For safety reasons, swimming is not permitted during periods of lightning. PLEASE…DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE to ask if lessons will be held. An instructor will be on hand if swimming is permitted.
